On 26th March to 28th March 2008 I went down to Weymouth & Portland Harbour for Zone Squad Training. There were about 50 plus other windsurfers from the English Zones. We started each day with an hours fitness training, games and warm-ups followed by on water training. On the water we put into practice what we had been taught, ending the days with racing.
On Thursday 27th March we met Nick Dempsey, the
UK’s leading men’s racing windsurfer and Olympic hopeful who gave us tips and answered our questions. I found it very helpful to listen to him as I got a few tips and learned a few tactics when racing.
It was great to sail in this massive harbour, the wind was fantastic on the last day and I learned loads of stuff throughout the camp.
